VBDO promoting sustainability through financial markets
The Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO) aims at generating a more sustainable capital market by raising awareness both with multinational corporations and investors about the contributions they can make towards a sustainable capital market.
The VBDO also formulates opinions on different topics related to sustainability. VBDO regularly carries out researches, visits Annual General Meetings of stock listed companies and engages in an active dialogue with banks, insurance companies, media and Dutch stock listed companies. As such VBDO is the only association in the Netherlands representing institutional as well as individual sustainable investors.

Mission and vision
According to VBDO, the ideal society is a sustainable society that meets everyone's needs, now and in the future. A just distribution of attention for social, ecological and economical values is a necessity for a sustainable society. Each individual and each company contributes in its own way to the preservation and development of this equilibrium.
VBDO believes that the capital markets determine whether a sustainable society stands a chance. This is why VBDO has chosen the capital markets to spread its vision of a sustainable society. The two parties in the capital markets that VBDO deals with are the (private and institutional) investors and the companies in which are invested.
With specific actions, VBDO tries to convince both parties in the capital market to be more sustainable. Concern for people and environment will create a better world for our children and grandchildren. That is VBDO's vision.
Annual General Meeting VBDO
Every June VBDO organizes its annual general meeting (AGM) in Utrecht. Members come together with the board, management and staff. The commitment of our members has been the key to our success and our uniqueness.
