Jacqueline Duiker (sr. project manager VBDO) recently spoke with De Nederlandsche Bank and CACEIS about responsible investment by pension funds. Her sustainable investing vision is summarized as:
“Sustainable Investing goes beyond limiting financial risks in your investment portfolio. Actually, that is a form of treating the symptoms. To achieve a sustainable world, we will have to start looking at risks and value differently. If we fail to do so, we will create major systemic risks with much greater consequences, both actual and financial. Responsibility for doing this is a shared responsibility which lies with each and every individual stakeholder.”
